The Sweet Frog
While trying to save money towards a house, we’ve definitely limited how much we’re going out. But when we do go out, we’re trying to find new places that are either unique to North Carolina or places we’ve never tried before that aren’t in Utah! We’ve recently discovered a fun one that has definitely become my kid’s favorite- The Sweet Frog! It’s not unique to North Carolina- there are around 300 locations around the nation! But it’s not located in Utah (with the closest one being in CA), so it’s certainly a new store for my family! I’d never heard of The Sweet Frog.
The name certainly catches one’s attention- sweet frog? Can those two words go in the same sentence? It’s certainly an intriguing name! Do they sell frog’s legs? Chocolate Frogs?
Nope! It’s a frozen yogurt place! And it’s not just a put your order in and receive it kind of place- it’s a self-serve place that allows you to create the perfect treat for yourself!
You can choose whatever flavor you want (or a combination of several!) and add as many toppings as you want as well. They have quite the selection!
My kids were in heaven. You pay by the weight, so there is no limit as to how many different toppings you can choose- you just want to be mindful of the weight ;). I love this because I can grab a couple pieces of cookie dough, a couple Oreo chunks, a spoonful of chopped Heath and a dollop of caramel- and I can control the portions to give me just a tiny bit of each and still get all my favorites!
They had about 12-14 flavors to choose from, and I loved that there were multiple dairy free options for my daughter! She was definitely thrilled as well :).
I also loved the atmosphere of our particular Sweet Frog. I haven’t been in the other stores so I can’t say what the other stores are like, but the store here is quite uplifting! There’s a cute little place for pictures if you’re into that kind of thing- with the two mascot frogs with faces cut out so you can put your cute face in for a photo :). But what I loved even more was all the scriptures beautifully posted on the wall!
I only took a picture of a couple, but there were easily at least 5-6 posters lined across the wall, each beautifully decorated and uplifting and cheerful.
There was a poster hanging up behind the cashier counter that had an acronym for FROG- I’m not 100% sure that this is actually what it stands for (I wish I could fully remember- thank you pregnant brain ;) ), but it said something like Fully Rely On God. I just loved the whole atmosphere of the place- uplifting and happy and full of tasty treats! Definitely a business I want to continue supporting!
If you have a hankering for something cold and sweet and are lucky enough to have a Sweet Frog close to you, give it a try!
