WARNING! Make this recipe at your own risk!

Yesterday was my son Danny's birthday. In the morning, I asked Kathy "what did Danny choose for his birthday dinner?" She said "Fried Chicken with Honey Mustard Sauce of course" as if she was annoyed.

I think Kathy's getting tired of making it because ALL 5 of our kids and I choose this meal EVERYTIME it's our birthday! I said "well, it's delicious...they love it...and it's a meal you can't get anywhere else. You can't go to a restaurant to get this." She said "I guess your right."

So...consider yourself warned!!! If you try this recipe, it might also become one of YOUR favorites and then you'll have to make it all the time too! 😂

I said "what did Danny choose for dessert?" She said "Weezy Cake!"

Weezy Cake is a recipe Kathy's Aunt Louise invented and the kids love it. It's pretty sugary (which is probably why the kids love it so much!)...so be sure to eat it with a tall glass of milk!

Well, since we're on the subject...my nephew Kalani Sitake's undefeated, #7 ranked BYU Cougars played their in-state rival, the University of Utah, on Saturday. These two teams are bitter rivals and the game between them is called The Holy War.

When these two teams play each other, the regular season record and the national rankings get thrown out the window. None of that matters and the game could go either way.

This game was no different. Even though BYU is ranked #7 in the nation and is one of only a few teams left with a perfect record, they found themselves losing 21 to 10 at the half. Utah's offense scored three touchdowns and BYU's offense scored zero touchdowns!

But, miracles happened in the second half. The Utah offense didn't score another point the rest of the game. And, BYU ended up winning 22 to 21 in dramatic fashion with a 44-yard field goal that split the uprights with 3 seconds to go in the game! Another miracle win for BYU!!

So, the question is...what was said at halftime? What did Kalani tell the team to inspire such a turn-around? When asked about it, this is what he said:

This is what Helaman 5:12 says:

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Well, it seems that, once again, when we center our lives on Christ, we cannot fail! Way to go, Kalani...keeping the boys centered!

With 1:30 left in the game, BYU was down 19 to 21 and we had the ball at our own 10 yard line. We couldn't seem to gain any yards and found ourselves in a 4th and 10 situation. The game was on the line!

Unfortunately, our quarterback was sacked at the 1 yard line and everyone thought the game was over. But, lo and behold...miraculously, there was a holding penalty on the defense which gave BYU an automatic first down! Yahoo!!!

As you can see in the following graphic, when BYU seemingly failed on that 4th down attempt, the probability of Utah winning was 100%! That's why we were astonished beyond all measure at winning this game!

This is the video my nephew, Apollo Oaks, shot when BYU made the game winning kick. Too good!

When we went to church the next morning, these are the hymn numbers that we sang...

I mentioned that yesterday was my son Danny's birthday. This is a screenshot showing how many happy birthday wishes he received.

This is a beautiful sight to see!

After watching Kalani's comments to the team in the locker room at the 13:10 minute mark of The Cut (see video below), I texted him and said:

I just watched The Cut and saw you speaking the Word of God and teaching these young men truth and I gotta say…you are doing a GREAT thing, Fifita. Trillions of people in Heaven are cheering for you when you do this just like Lavell Edwards Stadium cheers when BYU scores the winning touchdown. Keep up the great work!! You are a force for good and Heavenly Father is so proud of you!!

He replied and said:

Thank you so much Dan. I wish I could take credit for it all. I’m just doing what LaVell did for me. They didn’t have camera phones back when he coached.

Here are the full-game highlights in case you are interested. Pay attention at the 9-minute mark and you'll see one of the BYU players help up one of the Utah players. I am so impressed with the sportsmanship of this BYU team! This is not the sort of thing you typically see in a rivalry game. What class!

The following video is just a fun, 30-second recap of the season...

Next game is this Saturday at 8:15 PM Mountain Time against Kansas. Make some Fried Chicken with Honey Mustard Sauce with Weezy Cake and enjoy the game. Go Cougs!!!
