Opt for Efficiency This Summer!

I just love experimenting with new recipes and cooking and baking methods in the summer. But summer comes with extra time/energy demands (aka gardening and yardwork). Thus, I’m always looking for ways to do things quicker and easier (like housework, for instance) so I have more time/energy for messing around in the kitchen.

Jillee, of www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com just happened to have some quick and easy house cleaning tips the other day) and I thought you might be interested in them. She says that if you want to get ‘er done quickly and easily, clean with microfiber cloths. If you aren’t using these, you might want to consider it. They’re gentle enough for delicate surfaces, yet they have the grip and absorbency to trap messes like few other tools can. In a word, they’re efficient.

Here are her suggestions for how this cloth can get you through some basic house cleaning chores zippy fast:

SHOWER WALLS. They’ll clean the shower well and also help you keep it clean! Just wipe the walls down after each use. A microfiber cloth will pick up any soapy residue and moisture lingering on the walls, helping to prevent soap scum and mildew from taking hold.

WINDOWS AND MIRRORS. This cloth leaves mirrors and glass super shiny and streak-free. Add equal parts water and vinegar to a spray bottle, spray it onto your cloth, and use it to wipe down your mirrors and windows.

GRANITE, STAINLESS STEEL, AND OTHER KITCHEN SURFACES. Microfiber is great for cleaning and shining any surface in your kitchen. This cloth leaves stone countertops gleaming, and removes smudges and smears from stainless steel with ease.

GLASSWARE. Speaking of mirrors and glass, a microfiber cloth is a terrific tool for removing water spots from glasses and stemware. Buffing with this cloth picks up any residue or mineral deposits without the need for additional cleaners.

DUSTING and PICKING UP SPILLS. All the teensy tiny fibers of this cloth are expertly designed to pick up—whether it’s dust or a liquid. Forget the paper towels and reach for the microfiber cloth!

I want to make some focaccia bread, start using my fresh herbs in some new salad dressing recipes, and work on a few smoothie recipes. I don’t have a lotta time for housecleaning, so I’m opting for efficiency and grabbing my microfiber cloth. Won’t you join me?
