In a small bowl, stir soy sauce, water, brown sugar, whiskey, ginger, onion salt, Worcestershire sauce and garlic until brown sugar is dissolved.
Place mixture in a plastic bag add meat, poultry or shrimp and marinate for 2 to 6 hours in the refrigerator. Drain marinade and cook meat as desired.
