Turn on the oven to 400°. Line twelve muffin-pan cups with paper baking cups or grease with shortening. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt with a wooden spoon.
Add fruit and stir until evenly mixed.
In a small bowl, beat milk, eggs and oil with a fork until well mixed. Add to fruit mixture and stir until all the flour is moistened. Spoon the batter into the baking cups, filling them a little more than half full. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden. Cool the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefuly remove the muffins and serve hot.
