In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt set aside. In a small bowl, beat buttermilk, eggs and butter. Slowly add to the dry ingredients stir until almost smooth. Heat a heavy skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease. Using 1/4 cup batter for each pancake, cook until bubbles break, edges are dry and bottom is browned. Turn and cook until bottom is browned. For thinner pancakes, add more buttermilk.
