Dissolve gelatin in boiling water add sour cream and sherbet. Beat with mixer at low speed or with hand beater until sherbet is melted and mixture is smooth. Chill until slightly thick but not set add oranges. Pour into a 1 1/2 -quart mold or individual molds. Chill until firm.
