* "This French Toast is different from the kind made on the stove or in a toaster, but it's just as yummy." 1. Place in a shallow bowl or pie plate, 1 large egg, 1 tablespoon milk, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Mix with a fork until well blended. 2. Dip in egg mixture 1 slice whole wheat bread. Turn bread over and dip second side, then let it sit in the mixture for a few minutes until the bread is well soaked. 3. Lightly coat a small microwavable plate with softened butter or margarine or non-stick cooking spray. Place soaked bread on plate. Pour any remaining egg mixture over the bread. 4. Microwave, uncovered, at 100% power (700 watts) for 45 seconds. Turn plate one-fourth turn. Microwave at 100% power 45 seconds longer or until edges are set and beginning to look dry. Remove from microwave oven.
5. Wait 1 minute. Serve with butter and warm syrup.
Serving Suggestion: Cook a microwavable sausage link according to package directions. Place on the cooked French Toast, roll up the bread and place on a serving plate with the overlapped edge on the bottom. Top with several spoonfuls of applesauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon.
