Hamburger Soup

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
1 chopped onion
2 tablespoons garlic salt
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced stewed tomatoes or fresh diced tomatoes
6 cups water
6 cubes beef bouillon
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup rice, uncooked
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, corn, and carrots work best)

Directions:

Brown beef with onion and garlic salt over medium heat. Drain the fat.

In a large saucepan add water, bouillon, tomato sauce, tomatoes, and rice. Bring to a boil.

Add the meat mixture, and vegetables. Turn the heat down to low and simmer until the vegetables are hot and the rice is soft, approximately 15 minutes.
