Snap both ends of the beans, pulling away any strings. Drop into (lightly salted) boiling water. Bring to a boil after adding the beans then lower the heat to medium, not too low, just a slow boil. Begin checking the beans for doneness after about 5 minutes. Drain them when they are crisp tender. Heat butter in a skillet then add drained green beans and sauté for 2 minutes. Add Parmesan cheese, salt and stir. Transfer to a platter and serve immediately.
