Sprinkle cheese evenly over bottom of pastry shell. Spread crabmeat over cheese; sprinkle green onions over crabmeat.
Combine beaten eggs, cream, and seasonings; pour over all. Sprinkle top with sliced almonds. Bake at 325° for about 45 minutes or until set (when knife blade inserted in center comes out clean). Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
Fun Fact: The Galapagos Islands are a group of volcanic islands near the equator in the Pacific Ocean, 583 miles west of Ecuador. Famed for their vast number of native species, the islands were studied by Charles Darwin. His observations and collections contributed to the inception of Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection.
