Woodland Baby Shower Ideas

With baby number 7, people aren’t really lining up to throw a shower for you ;). However, every baby deserves to be celebrated, and my family is always so good about celebrating each other! We do a dinner/mini-shower/girl’s night, where we go out to get tasty food and celebrate that another little one is joining the family!

However, since I just moved across the country, that’s obviously not happening! As I’ve been looking at a few essentials I need for this baby (my due date is only 4 short weeks away!!), I couldn’t help but think about what theme I would have for a baby shower if I had one, and with all the traveling we’ve been doing, a mountain/woodland theme just seems like it would be the perfect fit! I’ve even chosen a couple new outfits and nursing covers that are mountain-inspired, because this little world traveler has already been to so many places- just inside my belly ;).

A woodland theme is great for any baby shower, but there’s so many of these cute ideas that work for bridal showers, birthday parties, movie nights, etc.

Let’s start with the easy stuff- all you have to do is pour them into cute white or woody dishes and label accordingly!

  • Animal crackers- I don’t know that these even need a label- but they’d be perfect by themselves or served with a dip!
  • Goldfish- You could pour a dish of regular fishes and leave them be, or buy the colored mixtures and label them as rainbow trout.
  • Mixed nuts/cashews- again, these don’t need a label- but they fit the coloring and certainly make me think of little critters ;).
  • Pretzel sticks- label them as twigs and sticks.
  • Whoppers- deer droppings ;).
  • Berries- you could leave them be or label them as “wild” berries. These would go well with a dip or even served in waffle cones for easy serving.

Alright- here’s a few ideas that might take a few extra steps- but are totally worth it!

  • Birch tree twigs- pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and milk/dark chocolate drizzled in lines make the perfect looking birch tree sticks! This wouldn’t be too hard to make but would have a huge impact on the presentation at your table!

  • Mushrooms would be easy to create with cookies or cupcakes. Frost your cookies/cupcakes with red icing and dab with white spots- either with frosting or large round sprinkles! You could also serve large strawberries and put dabs of whipped cream or white frosting for the spots. (Just be sure to remove the green stems and serve upside down!)

  • My little sister made this adorable hedgehog cheeseball for my sister-in-law’s baby shower a few years ago- so so cute!! I’ve seen a few variations of this, using pecans or whole almonds for the spikes. Almost too cute to eat!

  • I made this owl cheese ball for a Disney movie night a couple years ago. I thought it turned out so cute!! And it looks much super fancy but is super easy to put together.

  • Another way to incorporate a cheese ball with a woody theme- create a couple giant pinecones using the cheeseball and just decorate it with whole almonds, and garnish with some fresh herbs to finish the look. This definitely has a more elegant look that would be great for a bridal shower!

So many cute ideas for a cute woodland theme!
