Chicken Lasagna

Ingredients

8 ounces lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
1 1/2 cups cottage cheese, drained
3 cups cooked, diced chicken
2 cups shredded American or Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Sauce:
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced, or 3 ounces canned mushrooms, drained
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup diced pimiento, drained
1/2 teaspoon crumbled dried basil

Directions:

In buttered 9x13-inch casserole, place half of noodles; cover with half of Sauce. Top with half of cottage cheese, half of chicken, and half of cheeses. Repeat layering second time. Preheat oven to 375°. Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.

Sauce:
Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until soft. Add soup, milk, pimento, and basil. Heat until blended.
