Farewell to Mushy
When cooking pasta for salad, cook it al dente.* Then, as it chills with the dressing and other liquids from added vegetables, the pasta will have "room" to absorb the moisture (and flavor). This will keep the noodles from becoming too mushy and destroying the appeal of your pasta salad.
*Al dente means cooking food (usually pasta or vegetables) until it is just "firm to the bite."
