Make Time for a Good Meal
by Amy Hunt
Sometimes I have to question myself and why I keep running into the same rut. As I wander through the grocery store trying desperately to plan out meals for the next few days, I often get too flustered and end up leaving with only one meal partially put together.
Then the next day as I realize I have to make yet another trip to the grocery store, I think of all the things that I would rather be doing than living my life in the food isle.
Would it surprise you to know that at 4:00 pm every evening about 75% of us don't know what we are having for dinner? So how do we 75% remove ourselves from this rut? The solutions to this problem are often thought of as too time consuming in and of themselves, but end up saving oodles of time in the long run.
What we slackers need to do is simplify. We have made running a kitchen into a confused mishap. Planning and preparation must become a regular occurrence. And yes this planning includes planning out our trips to the grocery store. When asked what would bring them more happiness, many people say they want more time for themselves, and more time with their families. Since we can't tack on a few more hours to the end of each day, we will have to settle for at least simplifying our kitchens.
