Investment Cooking

Investment cooking is a great idea and I use it regularly.

In our family, there are three of us (my mom, daughter and myself) that whenever we run across a really great deal on items, we purchase enough for the three of us.

This past weekend, I got a great deal on briskets at $0.88 lb. I purchased three for $21.00! Now my daughter and mom will pay me for the cost of theirs. My daughter recently found whole pork loins for $1.00 lb. and bought three. We each purchased one from her. I had 5 pork loin roasts after I cut them and sealed them for the freezer at less than $3 lb. Mom bought 50 lbs of onions for $8.00 to use in canning. We each bought 5 lbs from her at a substantial savings.

Since we each shop at different stores, this is a great way to save. If you have relatives nearby or are on good terms with your neighbors, it can work the same way.
