Canning Resource
Dan,
I like to home can. I have been canning apples, green beans, carrots and beef stew. This is a good way to have good, home cooked meals ready for winter or when the power goes out or other things.
I would like to have some recipes for canning included with your book. One of the things I tried to do, but was a flop, was to can carrot juice. I have a juicer, but it leaves a lot of pulp in the carrot juice.
I canned some carrot juice with pulp in it. It doesn't want to can right for me. If I had a good recipe for canning carrot juice, that would help. There are lots of things like this I would like to do.
I was canning some apples yesterday. I had some left over. I canned them in a light syrup. My wife wanted me to serve the left over apples on some ice cream. I am going to do that tonight.
If you could add a section on canning, I would really like that.
Sincerely,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
While you await a "canning" cookbook from Dan's desk, you might be interested in this canning resource sent in by another Cook'n Club reader:
You'll find a lot of information there about canning, and hopefully you'll find the carrot juice recipe you're seeking.
Good luck,
A fellow canner, Desi @ DVO
