I have been told that the turkey in my freezer (frozen for about 2 years now) has freezer burn from being frozen too long and that the freezer burn makes it unsafe to eat. Is this true or might it be ok since it has constantly been frozen and not thawed at all during its' freezer time?
Thanks!
Hi,
Freezer burn is not dangerous to eat. It may make your food taste funny, however, and food decreases in nutritional value the longer it is stored . . . even in a freezer. So, your turkey is safe to eat, and your tastebuds will tell you whether it is actually good
to eat.
Hope this helps,
Desi
