Cake Bites for Diabetics?
In making the cake bites what can be used in place of the powder suger for Diabetics. Also what can be replaced to cut down on calories
Curtis
Hi Curtis,
Unfortunately, I think this is one of those recipes that should simply be avoided by someone with diabetes. With the cream cheese, cake mix, powdered sugar, etc. there are too many variables to change to make it reduced sugar/calorie/fat.
If however, you are still determined to try it, I suggest following the low-cholesterol instructions for making the cake, using fat free cream cheese, and using half as much of the made-up frosting when mixing it in the cake... use only enough to get the cake to hold its ball shape.
Good luck,
Desi
