Decorative Serving Spoons
By Bethany Booth
Wish for your dish to stand out at the neighborhood barbeque? Try this quick ribbon trick. Use some festive ribbon to dress up your serving spoons and your dish is sure to get noticed.
Here’s all it takes:
Wooden serving spoons
Ribbon (any color, at least 4-5 feet)
Glue dots or double sided tape
Cut ribbon to 4 times the length of the spoon.
Place a glue dot, or a small piece of tape, on the back top of the spoon (this helps the ribbon stay in place and not slide up the spoon).
Center the ribbon and place it on top of the glue dot or tape.
Wrap ribbon, using both ends, around spoon (you will want to do it this way, so there will be two ends to tie it off at the bottom together).
Wrap ribbon to the end of the spoon and tie off the ribbon. At this point you can choose to tuck the knot in to hide the strings, keep them out and cut them at a nice angle, or tie a cute bow.
When the party is over simply cut or untie the ribbon to throw the spoons in the dishwasher and the ribbon into the trash.
