Scouring Pots and Pans
When scouring pots and pans, lay a dish cloth in the bottom of the sink before placing the pan in the sink. This cloth will protect your porcelain sink from those ugly pot marks and will save you time-no sink scouring will be needed. Smart, huh?
Slicing Refrigerator Cookie Dough
The easiest way to slice "slice-and-bake" cookie dough is with a wire cheese slicer. The wire cuts right through the cold refrigerated dough without distorting the round shape of the log. Smart, huh?
Peeling Large Quantities OF GARLIC!
To get a good start on peeling an entire head of garlic, separate it into individual cloves and put the cloves in a container with a tight-fitting lid. Shake the container as hard as you can about 3 minutes, making sure that the cloves really get banged around on the walls of the container. Not only does this make it easier to peel the garlic, but it's a great workout for your arms. Smart, huh?
