If a cake mix recipe calls for flouring the pan, use some of the cake mix instead of flour to avoid the white dust on the cake.
Rub a raw potato on your hands to remove food stains.
If you put too much salt in a pot of something you're cooking, put in a peeled potato to absorb the excess.
Wrap celery in aluminum foil before putting it in the fridge and it will keep for weeks.
Add an apple to a bag or canister of brown sugar that has hardened and seal for a day or two.
When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to bring out the natural sweetness.
Add bread to a plastic container of cookies to soften them up again.
To see if an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks it's still good, but if it rises to the top, throw it away.
Try this for a headache, cut a lime in half and rub it on your forehead.
To open a hard-to-open jar, try latex dish washing gloves.
If you have a mosquito bite, rub the itchy area with soap.
Stuff a marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent dripping ice cream.

Run your hands under cold water before pressing rice Krispie treats.
Spray your plasticware with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and their won't be stains.
