2 Things You Can Do With SKITTLES
By Sydney Hill
Skittles, taste the rainbow. What a wonderful, happy phrase. Just like the skittle itself.. What a wonderful candy that just makes you smile. It's colorful, flavorful, and the texture is hard to beat. So don't just eat them, play with them!
Here are two games you can play with a bag of skittles...
1) The Skittles game ( catchy name, eh?)
You can play this with as few or as many people as you want.
You'll need:
- A bowl of Skittles
- A pair of dice
Place the bowl of skittles in the center of the table. Choose someone to start. That person will place one skittle in their mouth and roll the dice. If they get doubles, they can chew. If not, hold it. BUT DON'T CHOKE! KEEP SOMEONE AROUND WHO KNOWS THE HEMILICH MANUEVER! Basically, people end up with a big wad of skittles in their mouth. When you get doubles you can chew, right up until someone else gets doubles. So chew quickly.
Roll the dice fast! You don't want the chewer chewing long!
2) DON'T EAT PETE!
Some may think this is a child's game, I say it's a blast no matter what age you are.
You'll need:
- A paper that has a grid of images. You can make it with smiley faces, pictures of fruit, ABC letters, etc.
- A bag of skittles
Players take turns being the person who "tries not to eat Pete". Place a skittle (Or any food, really. Cheerios and M&Ms work.) on each image. Have the Player who's turn it is close their eyes while everyone else decides which image will be "Pete" (Depending on what you're grid looks like, it could be the second smiley face on the third row, or the apple, or the letter P.) The Player then opens their eyes when everyone is ready. He or she grabs the skittles one by one and gets to eat them. But, when they start heading for Pete, if they are picking him up, yell "DON"T EAT PETE!" the player then puts the skittle back down. Rejuvenate the board so that each image has a skittle again, and the next player takes their turn.
The main gist: Don't eat Pete!
Have fun with these games. I still do!
