10 Best Foods You HAVE To Try at Disneyland This Summer!

Many of you might be going on a summer vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth this summer: Disneyland! Hooray! We just got done doing three days there in May and had an absolute blast. One of the things that gets you through those very long days are the yummy snacks and meals you can find at the parks. I’ve compiled a list for you of some of the best foods you have got to try at Disneyland next time you go. Even if you’ve already been and have tried some of these--hopefully there will be a couple on here you might be interested in trying next time.

  1. Dole Whip

If there is any snack at Disneyland you have probably heard of already or even tried once (or a million times--they are very addictive!) already it is probably the Dole Whip. Available as a plain soft serve or in a pineapple juice float, its lush, buttery, and tart flavors shine best when eaten slowly and deliberately, Ratatouille-style.

Where: The Enchanted Tiki Room, Adventureland, Disneyland

  1. Matterhorn Macaroon

What: This sweet and simple treat is basically a crunchy, coconut crag crowned by delicate snow "cream."

Where: Jolly Holiday Bakery, Main Street, Disneyland

  1. Beignets

What: Consider these your next-level churros, deep fried dough breathed out into pillow form and dusted with a healthy amount of confectioner's sugar. We prefer the Jazz Kitchen versions because they're square and therefore slightly larger, but the Mickey-shaped ones really get you into the spirit. (You are, after all, in the happiest place on earth).

  1. Hand-Dipped Corn Dogs

What: These corn dogs are so delicious and are a great budget friendly option for lunch or dinner. These corn dogs are popular, so try grabbing an early lunch or dinner to avoid the lines.

  1. Ghirardelli Strawberry Fudge Sundae

What: When you walk in the door of this shop, they give you a free sample of a Ghirardelli chocolate. The sundaes are crazy. I almost wish I could just order a cup of the fudge sauce. The ice cream and the strawberry were a nice distraction from the taste of the fudge. But let’s just be honest, the star of the show is the fudge.   This snack could easily be shared with two or even three people. It was sweet and rich.

  1. Lobster Roll

What: There are plenty of hidden gems on the back side of the park, but perhaps none as smack-yourself-upside-the-head surprising as the Lobster Roll at Harbour Galley, right by the exit of the Haunted Mansion. Inside a fluffy, butter-toasted roll goes a sparingly mayo'd lobster salad just tasty enough to make you forget it's mostly filler. Will it be the best lobster roll you've ever had? No. But is it one of the best foods you'll find inside the park? Absolutely.

  1. Broasted Chicken

What: Deep fried, golden brown, salted-to-perfectionchicken. Forget the usual trumpets of turkey. The Plaza Inn serves up dinner just like mom used to when guests were over — fully dressed with green beans, mashed potatoes, and dinner rolls. Altogether it's as filling and homey as theme park food can be.

  1. Apple Freeze

What: Think Martinelli Apple Juice Slurpee. It has a little fizz to it. It iss refreshing and has no odd flavors added.

Where: All over Disneyland (I got mine from Edelweiss Snacks near the Matterhorn) in Disneyland

  1. Lobster Nachos

What: No trip to Cove Bar is complete without washing everything down with a heavy helping of Lobster Nachos. There's nothing too crazy here: lobster pieces, cheese, black beans, gorgeously thick tortilla chips. The good news is there's plenty to go around, so bring a friend or four.

  1. The Monte Cristo

What: The ultimate indulgence, this sugar-powdered deep fried ham and cheese sandwich will set you back an not-insignificant $17 — (that's a whole parking pass!) — but it's well worth it, trust me. Surprisingly ungreasy, the melty slabs of toast are sure to satisfy for an entire day. Sides of fruit and jam add a nice, fat-cutting, finishing touch.
