Cold vs Room Temperature Ingredients

I thought this was fascinating...

This is one of the most important things to know when baking cakes 👆🏻

How long does it take to get to room temp????

During the summer you can leave ingredients at room temp for an hour and you should be set to go.

During the winter, I swear the time triples!

Need to bring those wet ingredients to room temp fast?

Try a 15-minute warm water bath for things like eggs and buttermilk.

For butter, you can cut it into cubes to come to room temp faster or you can microwave it BUT don’t melt it! If you microwave it, use the lowest heat and heat for short 5-10 second intervals.

It’s also important to note that you should use room temperature ingredients when called for and cold ingredients when cold ingredients are called for (like for cookies or pie). 🙌🏻

Do you have any experience with this issue? Have you found this to be the case also?
