Ding Dong Cake with Chocolate Ganache!

The Cook'n programmers have been adding so many cool new features lately...like the new UI for iOS, brighter food photos, and view counts...that those new enhancements have been the focus of my newsletter articles for the past few weeks.

But, I would be remiss if I didn't share my Father's Day dessert recipe with you. After all, I gave myself plenty of credit for the delicious Mother's Day Meal that I made for Kathy. So, the least I can do is give Kathy a shout-out for her Father's Day magic (Besides...you're gonna want to try this Ding Dong Cake recipe)!

Father's Day, of course, was on Sunday and our church meetings start at 8:30 am (ugh). So, imagine my surprise when my son Danny and his wife Cecilia and their baby Juliette walk in right as the meeting is starting!

I jumped up and grabbed my granddaughter out of their arms and Kathy & I got to hold her and play with her throughout the entire meeting. I'm sure we were a terrible distraction for everybody in the congregation but...what can I say...I love that baby girl!

Needless to say, Kathy & I were in baby heaven. Little Juliette is such a doll baby! So precious!! That was the best sacrement meeting at church that I've ever been to! :)

When we got home from church, Kathy made a huge breakfast with eggs fried to perfection, swim biscuits with sausage gravy, bacon, sausage patties, and hashbrowns. Yum!!!

After that huge, delicious breakfast, I put on the movie Shooter (it was, after-all, Father's Day, so...). And then, I took a well-deserved nap.

Then, the kids started showing up for dinner.

We ate brisket with scalloped potatoes, salad, green beans, and corn bread for dinner. The meal was spectacular! But, by design, I saved some room for dessert because the next thing that happened was that Kathy brought out the

DING DONG CAKE

with ganache!!

That's right. Yum!

Oh baby! Talk about yummy! I think I'm in love with ganache.

Anyway...it was super delicious. If you're interested, Kathy posted the Ding Dong Cake recipe here.

Enjoy!!
