This Gender Reveal Was the Bomb… A Cocoa Bomb!
Our son and his wife, Danny & Cecilia, asked Kathy to host a gender reveal party for their new baby—and Kathy absolutely delivered! We wanted something unique, exciting, and delicious, and Kathy crafted something truly special: Cocoa Bombs filled with a surprise color. And let me tell you… they were the bomb!
How She Made the Cocoa Bombs:
- Melted dipping chocolate and "painted" it into a half-circle mold.
- Let them cool and harden before filling them with white chocolate mix and two drops of food coloring.
- Lightly melted the rim of one half using a warm frying pan, then pressed the two halves together.
- Drizzled blue-colored melted chocolate over the top and added pink candies for decoration.
- Placed them in cupcake holders, ready to serve.

When the moment arrived for the reveal, each person held their beautifully decorated Cocoa Bomb over their steaming cup of milk, waiting for the countdown. 3… 2… 1… DROP!
As the chocolate melted away, the room filled with anticipation. Would it be pink or blue? Then, one by one, the color began to appear...
As you can see in this video, the excitement was palpable!
During our post gender reveal analysis, Kathy and I concluded that this was a huge success! As you can see in the following video, the color didn't appear immediately. It took just a moment for the color to manifest which was perfect! The anticipation added to the excitement!
Danny & Cecilia already have a baby girl (Juliet) so now they will add a boy to the mix which is perfect! And, since my Dad, my son, and I all share the same name, this little guy will probably be named Daniel Van Oaks the 4th! The dynasty continues!!
Congratulations to Danny & Cecilia and way to go Kathy with the great Gender Reveal party!
This Cocoa Bomb Gender Reveal was an absolute success! The slow reveal made the moment even more thrilling, and best of all, it kept the surprise intact for everyone. Congratulations to Danny & Cecilia on their baby boy, and a huge shoutout to Kathy for making this such a memorable event.
If you're planning a gender reveal, we highly recommend Cocoa Bombs—they’re the sweetest way to share the big news!
