Preheat oven to 375°. In a large mixer bowl at low speed, beat sweet potatoes, brown sugar, whipping cream and milk until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in bourbon, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt until well blended.
Pour into pie shell. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool completely before serving.
Serve with whipped cream and sprinkle with praline powder if desired.
