At least 2 hours or up to 1 day before serving:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat half-and-half until very hot and steaming (do not boil). Remove from heat cover and keep hot.
In a blender container, place chocolate chips, egg, sugar, coffee granules, vanilla and salt. Pour hot half-and-half into blender container cover. Immediately blend on high speed for about 1 minute or until mixture is smooth and chocolate pieces are melted. Pour into individual demitasse cups or small stemmed glasses. Cover with plastic wrap and chill at least 1 1/2 hours or until ready to serve. Mixture will have a soft, pudding-like consistency.
Serve each dessert with a small dollop of whipped cream.
