Instructions:
1. Make the bases (sides) of the houses with four crackers for each house. (See Diagram 1.) Cement the crackers together with Royal Icing. You may find it easiest to apply the icing from a waxed paper cone. Allow the houses to dry on a piece of waxed paper. This is very important. If the sides are not dry, the weight of the roof will cause the house to collapse.
2. Decorate the sides of the houses by sticking the candy on with Royal Icing allow to dry.
3. To form the roof, run a row of icing along two opposite top edges of the base. Stick on the two cracker squares and cement at the peak with another row of icing. (See Diagram 2.)
4. Attach gumdrops to peak of roof before icing dries if desired. Decorate the roof as in Step 2. (See the photo for decorating ideas.) Allow to dry.
