Place salmon, cream cheese, onion, horseradish, lemon juice, salt and optional liquid smoke in a blender container or food processor bowl cover and blend or process until almost puréed. Cover and chill.
On a sheet of waxed paper form cheese mixture into a 6-inch log. On a separate sheet of waxed paper mix pecans and parsley. Roll log in this mixture. Cover and chill for at least 1 1/2 hours before serving.
Serve with crackers or bread.
