Preheat oven to 350°.
Place almonds in a pie plate. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until toasted, stirring several times (MW). Set aside to cool.
Meanwhile, quarter and core apple. Cut six thin slices set aside for garnish. Dice remaining apple.
In a medium bowl, mix turkey, diced apple, pineapple, mayonnaise and pepper. Chill until ready to serve.
To serve, spoon turkey salad onto individual plates. Garnish with apple slices and almonds.
Serve on lettuce-lined plates with whole wheat muffins and ice cream.
