Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper; rub into surface. Arrange ribs on a medium-hot grill; cover and grill until tender, about one to 1-1/4 hours, adding more coals as needed. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan; simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Baste ribs with sauce during last 30 minutes of grilling, turning often.
Tip: String up twinkly white lights and brightly colored paper lanterns in the backyard…so festive!
