Cheddar Cheesy Bread

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:

Coat a 8"x4" loaf pan with non-stick vegetable spray; set aside. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir milk and egg into flour mixture; add Cheddar cheese. Stir well and pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes, or until golden.

Tip: Turn fruit juice into a special-occasion beverage...add a splash of ginger ale and a skewer of fruit cubes lined up on a plastic straw.
