Need An Excuse To Eat
Alfredo Or Sticky Buns?

Really, who decides these? Some sound so obscure and crazy! Another question, how genuine are they? I've heard there's a food holiday every day, some are even doubled with two food holidays on one day. Is it too good to be true?

I'll be totally honest with you. I don't think I really mind where the original source came from or how true it is. If it's an excuse to eat some banana bread, I'll take it.

However, just so you know, many of these are for real. They were made up and approved by real, genuine people. National holidays are determined by three different ways. One is by a Presidential proclamation (these are usually for the interest of the nation as a whole. This is how Thanksgiving and School Lunch week came about). Another is determined by industry (such as Pie Day). Lastly, an unknown source determines the day.

So maybe it was some fourth grader who decided he really liked banana bread and wanted to celebrate it. Maybe enough people agreed with him to make some banana bread and spread the cheer. I have no clue how some of these came about, but as I said before, whether the source is legitimate or not, I'm okay to be happy about some Pancakes and Strawberries.

Be prepared, the huge list you see is ONLY February, and I didn't even include them all. Woah, we must really love our food! And I think some people were just having fun: Ex: Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day
