1/2 cup brown sugar , packed
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons dry mustard
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried, minced onion
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients; mix well. Store in an airtight container. To use, rub generously over steaks before grilling.

Tip: A gift for Dad of a spatula, tongs, a basting brush and a jar of steak rub would be terrific tucked inside an oven mitt!
