Notes from Folks
I discovered a great idea this Christmas. I was getting ready to make icing for sugar cookies and realized I did not have any red food coloring. Then I noticed that I had some cherry jello (in box - unmade). I took a very small amount and put it in the white icing and "magic" a wonderful red icing and a delicious taste also. I then decided that I could do this with any jello and have many different delicious flavors of icing for cookies. Try this. They are scrumptious! --Sue Higham
Audrey Knight asked in regards to last month's newsletter, "When you use green bean or soup cans to make tiny loaves of bread, how do you keep the contents from running out of the can?"
(Only fill the cans half full with batter to prevent oven spills.)
Just to let you all know that I have a dozen cookbooks, but the only place I found the recipe I was looking for was on my Cook'n CD. Keep up the great work. -Senney
Thank you so much for the "True Meaning of Christmas". I have never read anything like that and what a wonderful way to show that we can have Santa Claus if we keep him in perspective to the real "Gift Giver". God bless you. --Marybeth McCuistion
Dan, I believe I came onto your mailing list through Cook'n Lean software that I purchased at Sam's Club some time ago. Is there a place in this newsletter to view only "lean" recipes? Your recipes are wonderful but the post holiday season demands eating more sensibly. Thanks! --Lynne Erickson
(I hope this issue of Home Cook'n answers your question! Be sure to look for tips to lighten up recipes in future issues, too.)
Do you have something to share with other Cook'n readers? Email your thoughts to us. Tell us about you and your family, and send us a picture. We'd love to hear from you...and who knows...perhaps you will be the star of the next newsletter!
