More Talking Tablecloths
Just a quick note to go along with the idea presented in the Talking Tablecloth article from last month's issue of the HomeCook'n Newsletter. There is a restaurant here in Iowa that uses white butcher paper as their tablecloths. There is a drinking glass full of crayons on each table next to the napkins. Waitresses come along and write their name on your table so you can remember it, and you are encouraged to be creative while waiting for your meal to come. It really helps pass the time and the kids are disappointed when the food finally arrives. The walls of the restaurant are lined with pictures and portraits created by the customers and they always have scissors handy if you would like to take a drawing home. It also makes clean-up a snap for them. What a great idea!
