Ready Set FOOD

My kids and I went to stay with my sister’s family over spring break last week. The cousins love playing together, and I always come away having learned a thing or two in the kitchen from my sister Noelle. We have 6 kids between us, and 9 hungry mouths to feed when we’re together!

This trip, by biggest take away was the use of Snapware! I have tried my fair share of food storage methods, and from what I can tell, Snapware beats them all. Here are a few benefits of the product, and then I’ll tell you how I use them!

Benefits of Snapware:

Airtight and Leakproof, as advertised. This is what I expect from any food storage system, and this one delivers.

Color labeled lids so you can easily grab the right size/shape out of the drawer. This is one of Noelle’s favorite quality and first selling point to me. I didn’t think it was that big a deal at first. It didn’t sound too hard to grab a small circle lid, or a large rectangle from the drawer. But now that I have been using them, they do get mixed up and the color makes it easy to grab the correct lid in a hurry!

Interchangeable lids between plastic and glass set. I only have the plastic set so far, but it is good to know that they are interchangeable, and it shows that the company really thought through their product and made them as user friendly as possible!

Microwavable, making reheating leftovers simple! Snapware does not get faded or splotchy, they hold their shape perfectly and don’t get too hot in the microwave!

They stack perfectly on each other so your refrigerator stays organized. When I look in Noelle’s refrigerator, everything is perfectly aligned and you can easily see what food there is to eat. Noelle wastes hardly any food and I think that is in large part due to her Snapware system!

I bought my own set on my first day back home! I filled a large rectangle with baby carrots, grape tomatoes and sliced cucumber. I can’t tell you how nice it was to pull out that bin after school and offer it to my kindergartener for her after school snack. A variety of fresh veggies ready to go without a thought from me! I also sliced strawberries and did 4 sets of a strawberry/blueberry mix to use over yogurt and granola, ice cream, pancakes, or just to serve with dinner or for a snack! After I got home from Costco, I pulled apart a rotisserie chicken and have had the meat ready to go for weeknight meals and even to add to my salad for lunch! I never would have picked it apart during the lunchtime rush, but because it was ready to go in the Snapware container, it was simple to add a little protein to my diet midday! There are countless ways to fill your containers, but whatever you put in them will be ready for a quick snack, to take on the go, or to set out for hungry kids. Snapware is the way to go!

It is available to buy at most stores, but I have checked and seen it for sale at Target, Walmart, Amazon, and I bought mine at Costco! Let me know if you buy it, use it and love it too!
