Sausage Spaghetti Casserole

Ingredients

1 pound sausage
1 medium onion chopped
1 (26-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup water
1 (16-ounce) package spaghetti noodles, cooked and drained
1/4 cup butter or margarine melted
3 eggs beaten
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese divided
1 (16-ounce) container cottage cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a frying pan, brown sausage and onion together and drain any excess grease. Stir spaghetti sauce and water into sausage mixture. Allow sauce to simmer over low heat 5 minutes.

In a bowl, combine cooked spaghetti, butter, eggs, Parmesan, and half the mozzarella cheese. Spread noodle mixture into a greased 9 x 13- inch pan. Evenly spread cottage cheese over noodles. Spread spaghetti sauce mixture evenly over top. Sprinkle remaining cheese over sauce. Cover and bake 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 10–15 minutes more. Makes 6–8 servings.
