1. Have Mom or Dad help you cut the top off the pumpkin. Scoop out the pulp and seeds from the inside. With your fingers, separate the seeds from the pulp and put them in a colander, (A colander is a bowl with holes in it.) Rinse the seeds under cold water and dry them on paper towels.
2. Turn oven on to 400°.
3. When the seeds are dry, spread 2 cups of the seeds on a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven and watch very closely so that the seeds toast but do not burn. Stir frequently. It will probably take about 30 minutes to toast, but check the seeds for crispness after 15 or 20 minutes. Carefully remove from oven with hot pads.
4. Put warm seeds in a bowl and pour in melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle with seasoned salt and stir until seeds are covered with butter or margarine.
