Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the anchovies, garlic, oregano, basil and tomato paste, stirring for 1 minute. Add the diced tomatoes and sugar and bring to a boil. Add the mussels, cover and simmer until all the shells open.
Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water for 7 minutes until al dente (cooked, but firm). Drain the pasta and add to the mussels, mixing well.
