1. Cut 2 thin slices from a red onion.
2. Cut 2 thick slices from a tomato.
3. Arrange all the ingredients on a plate. On one side, place the lettuce leaf and top with the tomato and onion slices. Garnish with capers, if using. On the other side of the plate, put the bagel and lox. Serve with cream cheese.
