Mix sugar, cocoa, whipping cream, corn syrup and salt in saucepan. Let stand for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook on medium-high heat until mixture boils. Lower heat to medium and continue cooking until a soft ball forms in cold water. Add butter and vanilla. Remove from heat and beat until of spreading consistency.
