Do you stay under budget?
Sticking to any kind of budget is tough. But, spending less on groceries than what you've budgetted seems to be even more difficult. Am I right?
Maybe it's because food prices have gone up so much lately. Maybe we shop impulsively too much when we're buying food. Maybe my kids are eating more as the family gets bigger and I'm not adjusting the budget the way I should.
Perhaps we're spending more money on diapers, medicines, and other non-food items at the grocery store than we were before. Or, maybe Kathy is asking for cash back when she writes the check to the grocer so she can secretly save money for my Father's Day gift!!
I've noticed that Kathy seems to shop the sales. Sometimes she comes home and tells me how much she saved. That's when I usually take a big gulp and brace for the damage report.
When I save money, the balance in the bank account is usually higher. But when Kathy saves money, that means she bought something on sale.
Do you save more money shopping the sales and using coupons or does that lead you to possibly buy things that you don't need? Is it better to go to the store and buy just what you planned to buy regardless of the price and nothing more?
Please cast your vote and let your voice be heard. If you have any feedback regarding these other questions, please add a comment too. I'm really looking forward to your ideas.
Best Wishes!
