Since my husband and I were married 10 years ago, it is now the tradition that on mother's day we treat my mom to a grilled T-bone steak with all the trimmings, her favorite non-alcholic drink, a strawberry boom boom special, and then we spend the day, rain or shine, just having all the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren in for the day to spend with her. My mother is 90 and still just as active now as she was thirty years ago.
Traditions are what make memories!
eating out at a family resturant
My family makes me brunch
Visiting my mother; planting veggies and annual flowers; talk and visit for ashort time to give Mother alone time; cook and bring dinner for longer visits
Of course I do! my husband treats me to a nice dinner on that day.
My step-daughter takes me & her mother to lunch for a special time out together.
What ever my wife wants, which usually amounts to taking her out for dinner and buying her gifts.
This is not a Mother's Day tradition but one to honor your mother on your birthday for giving you life. As children we always gave our mother a flower, bouquet, plant or corsage to thank her for all the sacrifices she has blessed our lives with. On Mother's Day she gets breakfast in bed if church isn't too early and a corsage to wear. The family cooks Sunday dinner and cleans up the kitchen. Sometimes we go around the table and have everyone tell Mom why they love her or a special memory they have of her. This is especially fun now that there are grandchildren.
I just hope my kids remember!
Mom chooses the menu for dinner. Doesn't have to go together, just her favorites. Once we started getting more "moms" in the family, we started taking turns - but Mom always chooses dessert. Then we all work on Mom's garden, guys and kids, too.
flowers and get together
My mother enjoyed a St Louis Cardinals ballgame if they were in town and then out to dinner. But she's been gone since 1979, so no traditions since then.
usually go out to brunch
Visit the local Botanical Garden and take home a plant for Mother.
Sometimes I get taken out to eat.
To wear a white flower if your Mother is dead and a colored one if she is alive
My family serves me breakfast in bed every Mothers' Day. Also, my husband makes dinner that day. He makes dinner other days but on Mothers' Day it is an extra special one.
