5 Ways to Make Valentine’s Breakfast Special For Your Loves
Valentine's Day is truly one of my very favorite holidays. I am absolutely the type of person who loves all of the cheesiness of it. I love the boxes of mysterious chocolates everyone seems to either love or hate, the cheesy Hallmark cards, the favorite go-to of a bouquet of a dozen roses, and you better believe I wouldn't mind getting some Shari's berries in the mail! :) Just about the only thing I would think would be possibly just a bit too obnoxious would be if my husband surprised me with a giant ten-foot teddy bear. Ok, let's be honest, I would still think it was sweet and would smile when I got it :) Anyway, probably more than receiving gifts myself on Valentine's Day, I love to make the day really special for my husband and kids. I want them to know it is a special day from the moment they wake up. Here are some of my favorite ideas to make breakfast on Valentine's Day really special and fun.
Probably the easiest and most common Valentine's breakfast item is heart-shaped pancakes. You can either freehand them (especially easy with condiment containers) or use a metal heart shaped cookie cutter to pour your batter in. You can even take this one step further and use food coloring to make them pink for extra fun. It would be especially festive and pretty if you topped them with strawberries and whipped cream, not to mention delicious!
Here is one of my favorite, super easy ideas: bacon hearts. Form the shape of a heart with your bacon before you bake it and that alone will add a festive side to your morning breakfast.
If you are really wanting to get fancy, make heart shaped french toast and layer it with nutella, mascarpone (a fancy, Italian version of a cross between whipped cream and cream cheese), strawberries, and top it with fresh whipped cream with a dash of cinnamon. Looks heavenly, right?
The standard cinnamon roll looks especially festive when twisted in a heart form before you pop them in the oven.
And last, but certainly not least, are red velvet waffles with a delicious cream cheese frosting. Talk about festive, eh? So pretty and tasty too!
Well, there you have it! Those are some of my fun breakfast ideas to make your Valentine's Day even more special for all the loves in your life! Please feel free to share any other ideas you have in the comments below. I will also add links for a couple of these recipes so you can add them to your Cook'n Cookbooks.
