Needs help finding a favorite Bisquick recipe.
Question from our Cook'n customer Audry G.:
I'm a lover of Bisquick from way back. As a young woman, and mother many years ago when my children were very small, I used Bisquick religiously, and still do today. Anyway, back then I got a recipe off the Bisquick box that I used many times, but today it isn't there. I don't know when it was taken off, and I don't even remember the name of the recipe. Maybe I can describe it for you.
I made a Bisquick dough to the consistency that the box described, poured it into a round cake pan, and poured some canned fruit such as apples, cherries, etc., right in the middle. Now, the beauty of this recipe was, it was so simple. Once I poured the fruit in, I put it in the oven, and during the baking process, the sides of the dough would rise, and fold over the fruit, not completely covering it, but turning it into a fruit pie, or cobbler. I called it a pie, because you could cut it up into wedges.
Needless to say, this recipe gave me a dessert for my family many times when I had nothing else, and surprise, surprise, some of us even preferred it. As my family grew, and I got older, I slowly forgot about the recipe until a few years back, and began looking on the box for the recipe again, but of course, it was gone.
By now it would be a classic recipe, but I have looked on your website under classic recipes, but didn't find it. I probably wouldn't recognize it anyway, since I don't remember the name.
I was hoping if I write to you, I might be fortunate enough to find someone who remembers it, and would send me the recipe.
I've used Bisquick through the years, and now my children use it, and love it. Bisquick will never die, but just keeps getting better and better. It would be wonderful if you could bring back some of those old recipes and introduce them to the younger set.
Thanks so much for your time.
