Asparagus Gratinee

Ingredients

2 pounds asparagus spears trimmed and peeled
1/4 cup softened butter plus more for greasing the casserole
1/2 to 1 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese
lemon wedges to garnish

Directions:

Boil or steam the asparagus until crisp tender. Drain and plunge into ice water to stop the cooking and retain the bright green color. Grease a casserole and layer asparagus. Spread butter evenly over asparagus and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Place under the broiler until golden brown, about 5–10 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.
