One year after Christmas I bought a small artificial tree for $3.00 at a drugstore. I stored it in a closet with the intention of setting it up in my daughter’s bedroom. One day I found my daughter and son playing Christmas in their bedroom. They had cut out drawings for ornaments and were using newspaper to wrap old toys to give one another. Now, whenever they get bored, I suggest that they play Christmas using small toys for ornaments and a roll of Christmas paper. They play for hours and the Christmas cheer lasts all year long. I would have never thought that a Christmas tree would have been as much fun to them as any toy they received.
